She keeps curling up and a few eggs have came out are they dead? Is she giving up on them? What should I do? Note I have turned the filter off now and there are no fish in the tank

When the do that they are cleaning themselves, watch carefully and you will see some legs moving over it's body. You can't worry about the eggs that have fallen off but how she is treating the ones she still carries.

Thank you. This is my first pregnant one I just wanted a few to scavenge the tank and ended up with pregnant one. Why would she start throwing them out otherwise?

If she is stressed she may toss them off, but she will also throw them off if they are hatching out - I think it is three weeks for them to hatch out into their larval state? (they are harder to raise/keep alive because they need well established aquariums and algae food source, which is different from the fully formed baby cherry shrimp that can and do take care of themselves just fine and are just miniatures of the adults so will eat the same stuff as the adults). I just got in some nice looking ghosts, the prettiest is a reddish color, the rest have really standing out red spots.

I desperately want some of the other colored shrimp but I'm going to have to special order them really didn't want a million ghost shrimp but I'm going to see if the pet store will allow me to donate a few if they survive I know I can feed them to fish but I feel that is unfair and they deserve a chance at a happy life.

They may not survive, I know they are hard to breed because of that first stage compared to cherries. I have a couple different kinds, haunt the bstf section and sometimes people are clearing out their shrimp. I actually just found two different colored rilI shrimp in my tanks (a brown/blue which I haven't heard of and an orange rili), i've got blues and cherries too. (Couple different kinds of blues that started with some really nice rilis and some lower grade ones.) I forgot my wild/green ones oops. (Those are all neos, I have a few tangerine tigers but i'm trying to get them to breed more.)

the larval ghost shrimp are easy prey for both fish and adult ghost shrimp (who can and will eat them both in the larval stage and as they grow) and are unlikely to find enough food on their own to survive anyway.

I would expect few if any survivors unless you're making a special effort to keep them alive.

That sounds spectacular! I haven't ventured into the invertebrates much just ghost. I think they are beautiful and amazing to watch. Do u have pictures posted of your tank? My phone isn't allowing me to go back to see your post I'm currently on my way back home from the pet store making 100% sure that my water is perfect and my testers aren't off which thankfully they are still perfect so stress from water perimeters can be eliminated.

I have mosses, daphnia, and only the mother in tank. It is an established tank and planted.

If you are talking to me I have a couple pictures of the tanks, but I would have to hunt them down real quick.

I'm trying to get myself to the point of selling some of them, the cherries will like be first (since I seem to have more of them? though I need to hunt down that orange rilI and get it it's own tank with my other oranges to try and produce more - though I have seen the neatest ghostly orange shrimp in the group - result of me letting the cherry and orange breed to wild color, it just didn't work right lol). I'm still pulling cherry shrimp out of one of my guppy tanks after I stuck a female in there in an attempt to separate out my colors...

What else should I do to make sure they survive?

Provide a large clump of moss for them to hide in and provide crushed algae wafers to try and feed them. Mom will still try to eat them.

Yeah I read once they release from swimmerets to remove mothers. So more moss I have 3 moss balls one I shredded for multiple pallets and then 2 balls and some other planted stems. I was in desperate search of java moss & wouldn't you know my luck there is not any at my pet stores even drove 30 - 40 minutes out to the next nearest pet stores so I'll be ordering some tonight.

Best way to go about it, a golf ball sized java moss portion will spread out nicely to fill out a six inch area (and grows pretty quickly when provided light).
